How to change turn signals on Yamaha Tenere 700 2019-2022 / Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally 2019-2022?

STEP 0: Preparing the tools required for installation

 Philips screwdriver
 ¼ drive reversible ratchet
 Torx T30 driver bit
 14mm open end spanner
 15mm open end spanner

STEP 1: Ensuring safety while working on the electrical system of your motorcycle

Before performing any work on the electrical system of your motorcycle always make sure to:

 secure your motorcycle in a stable position by placing it on its centre stand or using a wheel stand or a motorcycle lifter. 
 disconnect the battery and cover the positive (+) terminal with dielectric material such as rubber to avoid making a short circuit and/or electrical trauma

STEP 2: Replacing the flasher relay on Yamaha Tenere 700 2019-2022 / Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally 2019-2022

Yamaha Tenere 700 2019-2022 / Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally 2019-2022 has incandescent bulb turn signals fitted from the factory. So when switching to LED turn signals, you will also need to change the flasher relay to avoid the hyper flash issue (when turn signals flash too quickly). 

Luckily, the flasher relay on Yamaha Tenere 700 2019-2022 / Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally 2019-2022 is easy to access and changing it is a quick and simple procedure.

Each HAMMERLEDS® turn signal kit for Yamaha Tenere 700 2019-2022 / Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally 2019-2022 is bundled with a load independent flasher relay that is compatible both with LED or incandescent bulb turn signals. Replacing the factory flasher relay with a HAMMERLEDS® flasher relay will enable the correct flash rate of your turn signals at ~85 flashes per minute (1.4 Hz).

Removing the factory flasher relay:

#1: Remove the seat
#2: Locate the factory flasher relay
#3: Dismount the flasher relay by pulling it upwards 
#4: Press down the locking pin and pull out the connector to remove the flasher relay
#5: Remove the rubber boot from the factory flasher relay

Installing the HAMMERLEDS® flasher relay:

#6: Unpack the HAMMERLEDS® flasher relay
#7: Mount the rubber boot onto the flasher relay
#8: Plug in the flasher relay into the wiring harness connector and make sure the locking pin is secure
#9: Secure the flasher relay in place with
#10: Test the operation of turn signals by activating the turn signal or hazard light switch

That's it. Your turn signals should now flash at the correct rate of ~85 flashes per minute (1.4 Hz).
